These two gentlemen were honored at the Army-Air Force games last week. They are both vets of the Battle of the Bulge! That was 1944 so these guys must be up there and must have been really young at the time.

Yep, as Tom Brokaw has often pointed out, that "greatest generation" is shrinking in numbers swiftly as they have reached the end of the normal human lifespan.

Brokaw said, "They didn't whine, they didn't wimper, they did what had to get done."

Nowadays, many of us get flustered if we lose cable TV during a lightning storm, or the supermarket doesn't have our favorite snack.

Hubby had to correct me... his uncle was a POW in WWII captured by the Japanese then released but also was a fighter pilot in Korea.
