Photo Contest:

Ferndale, WA

Now thats funny ZZs a pair in every corner, thats my style. Four months ago I laid my prescription glasses down somewhere with my watch...haven't seen either since. I so glad at least they are together so if I find one I find them both...Hay

oh no Hay!!!!! Guess my eyes are worse than yours. I am not going anywhere without them. I have gotten to where I even sleep with them on. Sometimes hubbie will take them off after I am asleep.

Once years ago when I went tromping through the woods on Deer Island bird watching. I saw my first Blk & Wht Warbler on this big oak and a swarm of Horse flies found me. I was swinging every which a way and knocked my glasses off and sent them flying. It's like oh God now what do I do?? I am at the other end of the Island from Hubbie and no one else is on the Island. So the only option I had was to use the zoom on my camcorder I had in hand. yeah!!!! it worked enough for me to find my glasses. That sure was scarey though. I now keep all old glasses for spares. I have them in my truck and boat just in case lol

Good thinking!

Hay I'm with you on the photo contest: first I couldn't even find it, then I couldn't figure out how to vote, then the whole process was way too laborious! I still haven't voted.

Porkpal remember a long time back I told you, you were my sidekick cause we thought so much alike...Now I'm finding out we have the same problems also...This is just all to funny...Hay

Donna I love the stories you tell. I can just see it all now. It's terrible when you can't find your glasses in order to find your other glasses...I guess if we can just keep laughing together we'll get through it...LOL...Hay

Hay, I'm honored to be your sidekick - just don't kick too hard!

(Zone 5b)

To be blunt, I'd rather look at a chicken butt with a paper bag over my head than with a magnifying glass! It was interesting and I found that none have lice or mites so it was all good. I washed 12 chicken butts total, whew & yuck, hope that's the last time that needs done. They were all pretty mad about it too. Only three eggs today so obviously I have not yet been forgiven.

I get my glasses at the Dollar store too and try to keep a pair in every room. I refuse to wear those necklace thingies for glasses LOL

Good for you Annie! No lice, no mites! No more Cling ons... LOL No way I'd wash them in winter.. you are a good chicken mom!!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I entered a few pics but didn't realize it was photo contest time until about 10:30pm on cutoff day so I didn't get many entered. I don't expect to win after seeing all the other entries. But I still love my Cades Cove pic.

(Zone 6b)

Sorry but I was with Haystack, and couldn't even figure out how to vote. I entered one picture.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I would have loved to enter some of my brug pictures.. I just didn't get to it in time. :(

I was able to vote with the thumbnail method.. it was fun.. (despite the frustrations)

Some of us are just more skilled - and persistent than others. I gave up.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I didn't see anything different about the voting method from last year. It does take a while to get through all the pics but they are so nice i enjoy the process. Some of them were awesome.

I'm sure the problem is just me...I told my wife long ago I was so grateful I was not born a woman, the nine month process of being pregnant would have just been two long and booring for me, and I would have lost interest...I need things to move along or I just don't get involved...Hay
