Anyone know what spider this is?
This is an orb weaving spider (family Araneidae) in the genus Araneus; it might be a red morph of the common European garden spider, Araneus diadematus - see http://tinyurl.com/2fqda3x for an example. All orb weavers are harmless to humans.
I have a spider in my bathroom that needs identifying. I don't know if it is poisonous or not, but he is aggressive, my husband poked the web, and he reared back like he was going to strike. Usually if you just walk by the web without touching it, he usually just sits there real quiet or goes back into the web. I don't know what he is eating but he is growing fast. And he is big.
