Hey CoCo

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Did you get your little critter friend yet?? You know..the one with the long skinny tail? lol "T" :)

Well, to be honest,I think it's in my closet and died so going have to take everything out of there and check. Was going to do that yesterday, but got busy with the new flower bed that I'm making and mowing and other things, so will be cleaning my closet out today. If you hear a screach......I'ts ME! Seen the mouse in my closet the other day and haven't been in there since and haven't seen him since either. I think it got into our D-Con and probably died in there. OH,I hope not....Ewwwwwwwww. Had to wait for DH to be home this weekend to he can take everything out and check.
I have motorcycle helmet to wear, some tall rubber boots, and baseball bat handy and both bedroom doors are open just in case I need to make a be-line for the front door.Need some sort of armor plating or something for my arms. If I'm not on the rest of the day.....you know what I'll be doing.

By the way Sledder......you got mail.

Grab a bucket to put over "it" too..Whether it's dead or just hiding at least you can put it out of sight. I knew of a girl who put a bucket and (get this) a cement block on top of the bucket right in the middle of her living room. Now for some reason I don't think a mouse is strong enough to pick up a cement block. And quite frankly she was such a frail girl I'm surprised she even picked it up. :)

The bucket!!!!! That's what I forgot. Might just get a can of Raid or something to,to spray it with. Don't want to use Miracle-Gro tho.......don't want the little critter to get any bigger....lol

Sledder, I see you picked up your e-mail already.

Coco, don't forget the duct tape...for around the bottoms of your pants legs!! Happy Hunting!! Jo

Closet all cleaned out and nothing except traces of the little critter. Hopefully he has moved on,and on,and on, and on,..........Got my closet cleaned out tho and looks better then what it did when we first moved in.
I do hope that will be the last of seeing those critters.

There's hope, CoCo! If he did have a snack of your DeCon... he most likely went outside to die.....

Decon makes them look for water. I'm assuming you don't have any standing water inside so JSS is probably right. It's probably gone. Hope so for your sake!! "T" :)

Hi Coco we had some critters, DH left his bird feed, in his work shop inside the house, and not in cans or rubber maid containers. Well we went away for two months, and they had a field day. We had the pest control come, and they set stuff out for them to take back to their nest's to pass on!!!! Well it's been a year and a half and now we're moving so as I'm going through stuff stored in lower level I'm finding bird seed every where.LOL No MICE though!!!!

My bird seed is in sealed buckets so know they can't get into that. Haven't seen any critters since that one I saw so maybe they are gone for good.Boy, I hope so.

LOL This reminds me the FIRST time we had a mouse in our old apartment. I wouldnt let DH sleep until the thing was gone. So, he stayed up all night long sitting in a dark kitchen with a bucket...put some cheese on a plate and sat it in the middle of the floor. Every so often, I would hear <<>> DANG IT!!! (the mouse ran out and this was his attempt at slamming the bucket down over it) he finally got it, we had a roommate at the time...the next morning, she HAD to ask what the ruckus was about and thought it was pretty funny after getting that mental picture in her head.
When we had a wasp in our house, it went into the bedroom, so i rolled a towel under the door and duct taped it until DH came home to find it. These are the tails... i mean TALES of our little household.
Hope that little friend is long gone now, mom... umm...I wont be visiting until your first visiter has left. :-)

Because of field rats I went out and bought a huge rubbermaid tub with a tight sealed lid for the cracked corn for the ducks. Filled it up and stored it in the shed. Next morning I went to feed the quackers and the lid had been chewed up so bad it looked like swiss cheese and half the corn was gone. I switched to galvanized can and bungie cords to keep the lid on tight and had no problems til about a month later when the coons figured out how to chew the cords in half and take the lid off. Finally had to chain it shut and padlock it too! I'd rather have one little mouse in the house to deal with!

Them there coons will get into everything and anything if it isn't secured down. Was camping...many years ago and the crazy coons would come right up in your camp site to see what they could find to eat. Had to store everything in the car at night or by morning the coons would have been in it and half the food gone. Now we have had a opossum in the house before. Now that was a scary thought. The more we tried to get him out of the house the madder it got. Not a pleasant moment.
