CLOSED: Help identifying this beautiful insect

North Bend, WA

This little beauty was found in central Washington State (near Cle Elum) at about 3500' elevation. I've never seen anything so spectacular and was able to get a good shot with my macro lens. It was about 1" long. Does anyone know what it might be?

Thanks in advance for the help!

This is a caterpillar of a tussock moth (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae) in the genus Orygia - see http://tinyurl.com/26y38uj for an example.
