it is amazing how much some of them change as they grow up

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Yes it is Donna! Come on now I just know you have some more baby pix!!

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

They are all cute and especially cute is the little chipmonk colored one.

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Aww the little Chipmunk was a promised gift to a friend ! It is way up just east of Atlanta now with its new Mommy!

(Zone 5b)

STOP, Please!! Between all the hatching news and baby pictures you're making it very hard for me to wait until February to get more babies!

Your fuzzies are sooooo cute!!

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

Ha, we are evil. Posting baby pictures to temp you LOL!

(Zone 5b)

You are an enabler! I'm looking through catalogs like a mad woman too. I "think" I will eventually end up with half golden comets for their egg production and the other half of the flock as eye candy for pretty eggs. That is what I hope to do.... everytime I see a great looking chicken I change my mind LOL.

By the time I get the new tractor coop into the garage and painted it will be too late to order day old chicks. I'm saved LOL Could the rest of you please fire up your incubators and start hatching again, I need chick fixes on a daily basis!

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

I posted pictures of the Orp babies on my hatch thread. Otherwise, I have a bunch of eggs being mailed out tomorrow. I sure do wish these could all be sorted out early the boys from the girls. At least I will be able to do it on that next hatch with the sex links. Are golden comets one of the sex links? There are a batch of the reddish ones. Red Stars, Cinnamium Queens, ISA Browns and others I can't think of right now.

EEEEvil is at it again!!! Here is my "Precious" Frizzle next to a tea bag! For some reason I could not get a clear photo!! I figured I needed to get a couple of photos on here since it is an album, we dont want it to get boring!! Enable...enable...enable........

Wow, those guys are really small. Tea bags are not very big. Great visual for size. Pretty babies too.

(Zone 5b)

You have no idea how much torture this is!!!! I could take every chick that has been posted LOL

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Oh Annie it only gets worse!!

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

This is why the Album! Here is Chrystal.... Its not going to be all white after all! It has developed black barring on the wings! I might wind up with a barred cochin Frizzle ... How neat is that!!

OH honey, you might need to pick a different name for Chrystal... Might wanna start thinking blue..
:(

Can you take another pic?

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Willl do ZZ,... even though all the photos of this little one come out fuzzy! the camera just cant seem to focus on all that white. I am also wondering why Im not seeing any Frizzle!

Richmond, TX

ZZ is it the lack of tail that has you thinking roosterly thoughts?

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

yeah, a little Porkpal, but it's a cochin, so I'm a little thrown off. The wing seems roo-ish, but it's nice and big, so I'm a little confused.. Wasn't it if the feathers were staggered it's a pullet? The lack of the < shape is what makes me think roo thoughts..
Also, I'm thinkin it's a little older than my "target" age.
That was my first impression... one of those Uh oh moments..

I'd think it would have curls if it was gonna frizzle.. It will still be carrying the frizzle gene though even if it's smooth feathered.

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Definitely a lot of color on the wings! No Frizzle just a carrier of the gene! but the wings have a long point on the end and the feathering closer to body are shorter.

This one just wont be still! Feathering on feet are just showing up good!

Now the black is definitely showing Frizzle ,its new wings feathers are curling up ...Yaaaaay!

A friend was helping me out here! We didnt think about the busy lamp colors behind Precious. Hope you can see the itty bitty feathers!

If those two are the same age.. The girl is in white, the other is roo. If they are not the same age, I can't tell.. LOL
The pic with them standing together is perfect if it was a little more clear.. for comparison, it's perfect though.

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

You are right ZZ! I was thinking the black ( could be a blue) is a roo. He is just 8 hours older than the other , and IM pretty sure she is going to be a Pullet. Will try to figure this camera out and get a clearer photo!

I love that little grey or blue whatever it is...Hay

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh how cute! I see the tiny bit of curl on the opposite side on the lil grey/blue/black one.. :) Oh how I love chicken babiez.. :)

(Zone 5b)

Whew, the majority of hatcheries close this week. I picked up the phone many times last week to squeeze in an order for Day Olds. Now I have to wait until March. It would have been too long for them to be in the garage anyway. But, I still want some babies! I love looking at everyone's, please keep the pictures coming!

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

Garage. I would think the garage would be no problem. Mine are here in the house right here in my home office.

(Zone 5b)

They would be in the house for a couple weeks then out in the garage which is heated but they would still need a heat lamp. NO, I will resist and not get any until March 2011, however, I am putting in my order the first week of December! haha

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

We need a 12 Step program!!! My guest bedroom is now home to 5 babies and 6 incu eggies! What a winter this is going to be!
I have 6 RIR's that are about 3 months old , still in the Brooder inside the Chicken Barn.
6 BLRW x BO Crosses that are 5 months old in the Chicken House with 3 BO hens 1 BLRW Hen and 1 Roo . In another hen house are a trio of BCM's and a wellsummer Hen and a pair of old Serama's.. Oh and of course my 2 Serama pairs and 2 Pearl Guineas in their house...... Uh you do the math! and I want more??
I need help !!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Yup... That is exactly why I let them go so cheap and go on a frenzy of "thinning the herd" every so often...

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Well here is my baby Girl, just look at these colors coming out on her! What do you suppose she would be called... Partridge maybe! I just think she is going to be the prettiest little Cochin ever!!
Since she will be carrying the Frizzle gene I can pair her with my straight cochin Roo.

Im thinking a good or better name for her is going to be "Turkey" !

Now we know that this little Guy just cannot go through life being called "Precious"!!! With this good looking Handsome Frizzle Coat I have just got to get him a better name! Any one got any ideas?? Im still waiting to see if he'll be a black or a Blue.

I like "Spanky"!

Thumbnail by Eufaula
(Zone 5b)

LOL "Spanky" is a good name!

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

thanks Annie, I thought about the old "Our Gang" movies and the way this little Cochin is starting to Waddle, and be bossy, it reminded me of the "Spanky" Character. HMMMMM Im pretty sure you probably have no idea who Im talking about....LOL! the Our Gang movies , even on TV, Was a very very long time ago!!!

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

Well, not Annie but I remember them on TV. It WAS a very long time ago. I loved the dog, it was my favorite character LOL!

(Zone 5b)

What year(s) was the show on? I do remember them but don't know if it was reruns or not. I was an outside child, riding horses and playing with the dogs & cats and other animlas was more fun to me than TV.
