Oh no. It has turned into a run of bad hatches here :-((
So guess what hatching eggs I just bought now.
Oh Donna so sorry! We are just NOT having a good day!!
My show silkie pullet still has not laid an egg. She has to be about 9 or 10 months old now. I read the other day that good quality hens often take longer to start laying.
Probably would be better to wait until March to let her hatch out any anyway. or NOT lol Still haven't bought her hair tape. They didn't have any in Amarillo at Walmart, and I tried two stores. I may have to order it online. Hair tape for chickens so they can breed. Poor things can't see.
That's weird. LOL
This is a bad time for laying, due to the amount of light hours in the day..
I'm sorry for the failed hatches, but it's better than a bad hatch or a single baby.. There is always something to be thankful for! Also, better to not develop than not hatch.. so it wasn't you.. it was the roo! :)
If they were pullet eggs, you REALLY don't want those!
Better luck to you both next time. I know it's sad. :(
LOCKDOWN! We will soon see how it goes.
fingers and toes crossed Rita. Good Luck!!!
