CLOSED: Could this be a hawk, and what type is it?

Minneapolis, MN

I had a hawk show up this Summer and I did get some pictures but I have been unable to identify exactly what this bird is and its background information. Had a white band at the end of his tail, white chest, and white under the wings.
Can you please help me with the type of bird this is. He was always fun to watch after he caught his prey, cause he would do this dance with his wings spread out while standing on the ground. I guess that this is the way that they suffocate their prey. I am so looking forward to learning more about him.

Looks a little big for a Sharp-Shinned Hawk; I would say Cooper's as well.

That behavior is called Mantling-

"The action of a bird spreading its wings, fanning its tail & arching over its prey, so hiding it from other predators, including other birds".
