Charlotte..yes it was pelting down here.. to be sure.. that's why the devistation of the leaves/flowers was so massive...
we're on the mend here.. the flag pole bent in two was broken a foot above a joint in the alumnum...so I cut it and reattached it.. and only lost about 20" of height .. we're rakeing up the debris... and clearing the leaves from everywhere.. the roof drain.. in.. under and around the pots..
had this fellow pick it here... he's eattng well... and seems to be dong well... he's not at all afraid to be picked up and have his tag read.... he's sleepng on the stairway leading back inside.. he has a tag from an international racing association.. in the Bronx.. so I called that Bronx group's lost bird guy He will put me in touch with the owner later..
like Noah.. I got to see the wihte dove return after the big storm

Garden destroyed...
oh that is so cool.. a sign from above..
Yeah that is amazing! cool place to hang out for awhile!
It is a sign from above!!
He looks like he has an attitude problem or maybe you haven't given him enough food. Gordon, your damage looks much like my grasshopper damage except that I lost whole plants to them instead of just pieces. You mentioned getting pollen. Are you after specific cultivar pollen or just any pollen? I saw a few of my Brugs in bloom this morning. If you'll let me know what varieties you want pollen from, I can collect some and send it to you.
Veronica
My sympathy to you Gordon.
Every now and again Mother Nature has a way of letting us know who is truly in charge. We may grow them and pamper them and enjoy their beauty, but all plants are still her babies.
Gordon, if you have any broken pieces that you need a 'foster home' for while they root then ready to go home in the spring...let me know..I have plenty of space!!!! I have a few to "baby" myself....so having a few extras won't hurt!
Well..thanks all... looking back at my earlier pctures.. I'm struck by the beauty there...now... they just need time.. it will return in the spring..
Veronica..oh..I said my babes were blooming 1/2 flowers anyway.. looking as they might for pollen.. or to give some away..dispite heavy damage..
Charlotte... as usual.. Gordon's best NOID pictured.. is doing it again.. hail hell or not..[pictured]
the racer spent the night on the stairs.. the cat on going outside in the morning got him flying inside.. so I caught him and set him outsde.. while feedng him there he spooked and flew off.. later I found him back.. perched by the American Dream Catcher.. and we had a bunch of food together.. I think he might be a resident now.. I'll have to work a place for him into the winter storage room.. where he can come and go.. and not have too much heat escape..
Your NOID is beautiful, and the Racer is determined to stay with you it seems. I am glad he likes your garden. He sure is Beautiful.
Gordon I like your American Dream Catcher - no wonder the racer wants to stay with you. He's found an incredible place to live. My Gordon's best NOID has lots of buds on it now. To think it was just a small stick last winter and it has already had one flush and getting ready for a second. I think it would have had even more flushes if we had not had such a hot summer and she also got broad mites but recovered from those.
Well.. the racer flew off.. oh well... just when I was getting t know her..I got other reports from the storm.. a friend was a few blocks away from here when it hit somewhat lower than where I am on a lttle rise.. there the watter has to go into a drain as the highway is cut down about 40 ft below grade.. but the drains had clogged.. and the autos there were floating.. she thought the hal was as big as a golf ball...
my brugs n the local park.. are somewhat shelded by trees... and at the 45* angle it was coming down at.. they might have been shelded by the buildings some 50' away also.. but you can see lots of leaf damage.. and the dead limbs in the photo today.. but blooms anyway..
it looks like that plant the nuseries are offering.. yellow/pink/white... blooming together
OH.. I got the word I'm to have no brugs there next year... but they told me that last year also.. and l planted these 7' beauties anyway.. someone took the 4th smaller one at the beginnng of the summer.. a few days after I was told not to plant them
