Virginia Sweetspire Missing.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Guys, I had 3 or 4 small pots of Virginia Sweetspire from Dennis to Frostweed and I can't find it, this was something I was really looking forward to taking home.
Either I left it or someone picked it up by mistake.
If you can find it, please let me know and we can arrange to get it back.
Thank you very much.
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Went out and checked my bounty...I didn't end up with them, hope you find them. When everyone starts packing up it is crazy, and easy to end up with others plants.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Nothing here either. Hope you find it!

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

I just went through my loot as well, and there are no sweetspires. Surely someone will find them soon.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

I have not been through my plants yet, got home late and it rained all day, I will check tomorrow. I was the last to leave and after I loaded my plants I did a once over to check for trash and such and they were not left, the place was clean.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

I had a beauty berry from bananna18 that was in back of my spot by the flat of dwarf Mexican Katie ruellia and I do no have it in my loot. Think someone picked it up by accident and I hope it was marked Perkoschilifarm on it.

Anyone have it?

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I do not have your Beauty berry Michael.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I didn't come home with anything extra. I think I accidentally left without the plants the brugs and rootbeer plants that Kenboy gave me. I've never done anything like that before!

Josephine, if your sweetspire doesn't turn up then I can probably dig some more up for you. I'll check tomorrow to see if there are any coming up. It is always sending out suckers into an area of the bed that I don't want it to be, which is how I always have some available for the round ups. :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, that sounds very fortunate on the Sweet Spire, thank you very much.
I am sorry you forgot yours Dennis, maybe they will show up.

I picked up two gallon pots at the end that were left there, they are yellow milkweed, anyone missing those?

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

goodness guys, hope u get the tangles straightened out!!!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't think anything like this has happened before. It's not surprising with all the plants that were there!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, it was a very full and exciting day.

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

I always have a good time. I know I'm not much of a social butterfly~more like a wallflower~ but everyone is always so nice. You all always make me smile. I hope my son was not to big of a pest for anyone. He is very social :)

BTW~ Debnes, my son want's to know if Ben has a phone #. He would like to call him sometime if it's ok.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

None of the stowaways came home with me. Hope it gets sorted out soon.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

I had some of the purple berries in the pot of hummingbird bush so maybe I have seeds for the beauty berry. Sorry if this caused any trouble as I am not out to get anything started.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I am going to put a link on the main thread so everyone will see it. People may not get their plants back because of distance etc....but it is always nice to know what happened to them. But it could be someone that you will see in the spring.
I am so excited to have the Barbados Cherry Josephine! It will find a great spot at my house.

I am glad you like it Sheila, I love it too.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

perkoschilifarm, I will pot you up some and have them at the ETRU. I pull up hundreds a year here. They won't be very large but they grow fast.

I also gave away all bananas before I completed my obligation to someone. If anyone is going to ETRU I can bring more. Bananas do much better in the Spring and I will have more.

Also, if I wrote Orange Crush on a Hedychium Ginge, it should be Dave Case, the other Hedychium was Kewense. I brought two Curcumas, Panama Purple has purple stems and Emperor that has variegated leaves.

And as always, if you want a truck load of plants, just come on out. We have about a dozen shovels and more plants than you can haul off.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Ken, I was going to dmail you and ask you which curcumas you gave me. All I remembered was that there were 2 different ones and one had variegated leaves! LOL Thanks for answering my question before I even had to dmail you!

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Kenboy I look forward to seeing you once again in two more weeks. Thanks for the advance notice for the beauty berry and banana plants to.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Michael, I have your missing beauty berry! I checked all the boxes of small plants last night looking for Josephine's missing sweetspires, but I did not go through the pots of trees and shrubs until this morning. Our plants were crowded together, and the friends who helped me load up must have loaded your beauty berry thinking it was mine. I apologize for the mistake, but I assure you it was not intentional.

I can't go to the ETRU, but I can put the pot in the ground for the winter and bring it to you at the spring swap in Arlington. There is also a possibility that we will be going through DFW on I-30 in mid-November on our way to Pennsylvania. Perhaps we can figure out a way to get the plant to you then or locate a place I could leave it for you to pick up later. It's a nice-sized bush, and I would hate to cut it back enough to mail it, but that is another possibility. Just let me know which option you prefer, and I'll do my best to return it to you.

WOW, this thread is fun to read. How much did all of you have to drink? Talk about "who's on first"

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Patricia

Thanks for letting me know! If you like it then go ahead and keep it since Kenboy already said he would bring me another one at the ETRU. There's no need to try and mail or bring it so just keep it for yourself.

Michael

Lisa, just unsweetened tea for me with nothing added. However, we had LOTS of plants and it was hard to keep our plants separate from our neighbors' plants. Next time I am going to set up on one of the unused picnic tables and hopefully prevent any more unintended plant "theft."

Thanks, Michael. I'll check with you before the spring RU and see how your replacement beauty berry is doing. They do grow fast. My large one out front grew from a cutting taken one fall and overwintered in the greenhouse. It bloomed its first year.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, there was no alcohol, it is not allowed at the park, and we prefer it that way.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I agree no alcohol is better. I don't drink anyway. I was just trying to be funny and find some excuse for all the confusion. My ex husband used to tell people that I didn't drink so he couldn't explain my actions LOL I'm definitely a social butterfly.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, I knew you were kidding Lisa, but I just wanted to make it clear.

Wichita Falls, TX

Okay -- the culprit has been found --- it's the new gal -- picture me hanging head in shame. . .

I have a whole box of strange plants! he-he-he Blame it on the kids, they did help me pack.

I have found what appears to be a box from Banana18. And now because of this missing thread information, it is beginning to make some sence! In this box are:

2 Virginia Sweetspire, with frostweed's name on them

3 white avens with Josephine's name

1 snakeherb with Josephine's name

1 blackfoot daisy with Josephine's name

1 red salvia? center bed is written on it (white tag, done in pencil)

and

1 purple coneflower -- no name, but done on a lable outlined in hot pink

Aren't you glad I didn't rush home and get everything in the ground immediately. See, it pays to procrastinate!

I do happen to have to be in Dallas tomorrow (WED) for a doc. appointment at 2pm. I have yet to check the map to figure out how I will get there, but there are possibilities that I could get some of this to the rightful owner.

You know when I saw that box coming to my car, I questioned it, but soon chaulked it up to the generosity of people and the desire for those who brought stuff not to have to take it home. So Sorry!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Greta, no problem I knew it was just a mixup.
I don't know how we could arrange to get the box to me, Dallas is a ways from Arlington, but if you are going to be on I30 we could meet you at one of the exits, maybe the Fielder exit, of course we would have to know what time you might be there.
I will dmail you with my cell number and you can tell me what might work for you when you know.
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Brenda.....the red salvia center bed is one I brought, and gave to you I think.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

LOL you are a good person to confess. The small coneflower with the hot pink rim went to Josephine too. You didn't happen to find a korean foxglove did you?
Cheryl

Wichita Falls, TX

Sorry, no korean foxglove.

Sure wish someone would come and help identify a few of these plants and tell me where to plant them (sun vs/shade). i'd even let them help with the planting -- since we all know we love to do that the most!

So, it appears that we just picked up the whole box that belonged to Josephine. Dang, we're good. I bet next time people will be leary of having their spot next to me. . . especially Josephine!

Arlington, TX

post pics of the plants if you want an id or if there is a name list them and people here can help you decide where to plant them.
C

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Brenda!! Maybe next time you should have your own table!

Post the pics of your plants over on the NCTRU What is this Plant thread I started. Once you get an ID you can either check out Plant Files or we can help figure out the sun/shade thing.

Wichita Falls, TX

Thanks everyone! I will -- soon.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I noticed this new article about night blooming cereus. I gave one to Perko, and I noticed quite a few of these being passed around at the RU.

Hello Everyone, I am very happy to report that the Virginia Sweetspire along with the White Avens, Blackfoot daisy and Snakeherb were all returned to me in excellent condition by Karen's sister.
Thank you very much to both of you for taking the trouble to do this.
Josephine.
