According to the error message, the bugfiles says there is no order Hemiptera... isn't that THE order of bugs? And I need to add a family you don't have there, either: Diaspididae. How do I proceed?

We do have Diaspididae in BugFiles, but as Homoptera rather than Hemiptera: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/b/Homoptera/Diaspididae/none/none/genus/0/ For a time Hemiptera was split into Homoptera and Heteroptera, then Heteroptera reverted to Hemiptera and that was when we set it all up. Now they seem to have all reverted to Hemiptera, but for the moment we are stuck with using Hemiptera and Homoptera. I would like to merge them back together, but haven't the means to do it and must sometime ask our new masters to make the change.
Add your new bug as having Order Homoptera and Family Diaspididae and it should accept it,
