Frogfruit looks like a cool plant. Is it a perenial?
Yes most definately!....in fact it is almost an evergreen ground cover for me since I cover my beds with leaves in the freeze period.
According to TAMU website, Frogfruit is caterpillar food for Phaon Crescent, the White Peacock, and the Common Buckeye. I'll have to keep my eye open for it. Sounds like a good addition to the garden.

Thank you for your love and friendship, it is so nice to have friends who appreciate the things we love and dedicate our time to.
True I wasn't born here, but I have been a Texan for 43 years and as my children grew up, my home duties became less and i finally retired, my focus has turned to nature, especially nurturing native plants through gardening and conservation.
Lady Bird Johnson was a great inspiration, and as I discovered so many beautiful treasures hidden in our humble plants and flowers, I developed a passion for them, and a desire to make them known to as many people as possible.
Who hasn't marveled at the unfolding of a Jimsonweed, and smelled it's perfume, or the fields of Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush? I could go on and on.
It is such an injustice that the commercial growers have ignored our beautiful plants for so long!
But things are changing, and with each of us doing as much as we can it will be a lot better.
I went out this cold morning to check the Frostweed for ice, but I guess it wasn't cold enough.
Here is a picture of Frostweed ice from a colder day, it looks like a white rose.
I checked my Frostweed this morning also and found that it wasn't cold enough. I don't think it got as cold as they expected it to, but it definately hit the freezing mark.
