Found a couple of these on my friends ranch in Stockdale,TX and am not sure what they are. They both had a spiderweb around it and it looks like a sack of some sorts. My guess is that it is indeed a spider sack full of babies. I'm just curious if that is what it is and what kind of spider it came from.

This is indeed a spider's egg sac; likely that of a golden garden spider, Argiope aurantia - see http://tinyurl.com/lpzt2o for an image. These spiders are harmless to humans.
