I recently saw a spider control spray in a gardening catalog and since I have a very old spider infested house I was a bit interested in a non-toxic, all-natural way of controlling the critters in our living spaces.
I wasn't going to go by the vendor's word alone so I found the manufacturer's website and looked up the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). If I weren't already pretty cynical, I would have been amazed to find that the active ingredient in this spider repellent is Acetic Acid or as we like to call it, Vinegar. $13 for 22 oz of vinegar.
Checked a narrow hall that I had washed down with vinegar last year for a different reason and it was almost spider free.
