possibly a Red-Humped Oakworm
The red humped oakworm (Symmerista canicosta; Lepidoptera: Notodontidae) is a definite possibility - see http://tinyurl.com/23jw8l9 for an image, but the larva of the white-headed prominent (Symmerista albifrons) is extremely similar in appearance - see http://tinyurl.com/29u32fy for an image.
