CLOSED: small wingless insect, alas no pic

Irvine, CA

I know this will be hard, but I appreciate any input!

2 cm long, pale yellow body, segmented, nearly transparent limbs, can see very thin bands on limbs

2 long antennae

mouth (?) appears to curve down and back toward abdomen

rear appears to have tiny spines

As a defensive move, lifts its two front legs in the shape of a praying mantis

was crawling on a morning glory leaf, alone,

the back has a few red specks, a small brown band in middle

body is definitely curved, abdomen down, back up

skinny narrow body, long legs

wingless

so many insects to learn!

(Zone 7a)

It sounds like the nymph or juvenile form of some critter.

Huh, I believe I have found my answer through randomly searching google pictures. I think its a nymph of assassin bug or something related.
Thanks Kwanjin. :)

Your description certainly could fit a nymph of an assassin bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Reduviidae).
