Saw these through a bedroom window as the morning sun hit them-would never have seen them otherwise. Like drops of dew but standing out from the glass on short spikes. Eggs(??) droplets are about 1/32" and the whole spiral stands out from the window about 1/8th" and is about 1" diameter. A very interesting spiral patterern. Difficult to get a picture because of them being totally translucent... Ideas ???
CLOSED: Eggs on window...??
Did a Google search and it appears they are lacewing eggs...?? One person suggested Ceraeochrysa smithi ... any confirmation??
These definitely are green lacewing (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) eggs (see http://tinyurl.com/277wgwu), and Ceraeochrysa smithi certainly is a good suspect. This species coats the egg stalks with a substance that appears to offer the eggs some protection against predation - see http://tinyurl.com/27n46aa for detailed information.
