hey all...this is my first post here. i found a spider in the house a few days ago...i caught it and let it go outside. i couldn't really identify it thru my research, but thought someone here would probably know!
it's body was about 1/2" long (bigge with legs obviously)...found behind a toilet. it seems to me to be some form of house spider, but i couldn't find any images of the "honeycomb" like markings on it. i live in illinois, chicagoland area. anyway, just curious, intrigued to find out what it is!
thanks for any help!
CLOSED: illinois spider ID
This is a funnel web spider (family Agelenidae) in the genus Tegenaria; possibly Tegenaria domestica, a European species that has become widely established in North America. See http://tinyurl.com/2apj6bl for an image.
