CLOSED: bug flies like a hummingbird...

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 5b)

Sadly, I couldn't get to the camera.
This bug was about bumblebee sized, maybe a wee bit larger.
And bumblebee shaped - squat and round.
It had a long "beak", pointed more downward than front.
And something resembling a "tail".
It was drinking from the same plants the Hummingbirds come to (agastache rugosa, "Black and Blue" salvia, etc.)

Sinks Grove, WV

Probably a clear-winged hummingbird moth (Hemaris sp.; Lepidoptera: Sphingidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/65fz46 for an example.

THANK YOU!

I totally forgot about the anthers.

I didn't grow up in this part of the country and the sight of this thing just completely blew my mind!

And now I can answer someone else if they get blown too!
