Is this a Scarlett O'Hara?

Chicago Suburbs, IL(Zone 5b)

A couple years ago I got some "Scarlett O'Hara" seeds in a trade. They were beautiful but unfortunatley I did not save any seeds from them. They were a bright magenta color through out with no white as can be seen in the picture below.

This year I bought a pack of seeds also called Scarlett O'Hara which are more pink and have a white center.

Which kind is the real Scalett O and is there anywhere I can order seeds for the one without white.

I don’t know if your picture is "Scarlett O'Hara" or not, but it’s beautiful. Many different morning glories are misrepresented as being "Scarlett O'Hara", as can be seen in the comments in the Plant Files link below. I had a bad experience with seeds that were supposed to be this cultivar, the only time I’ve disliked a morning glory that turned out to be something other than what I thought I had obtained. As you can see from my comment in the Plant Files entry for this one, I was really put out at the time by what came up from the seeds I bought. Perhaps somebody who has grown this one will chime in with an answer about your picture and where you can be certain of getting the correct variety.

Beth successfully grew out some seeds from Ron that was the 'Real' Scarlett O'Hara and those photos are posted in the PlantFiles. As far as I know the seeds from those blooms are still unstable and some of us are still working on trying to bring back the 'Real' Scarlett O'Hara with the Red Throat.
Hopefully, someday that will happen

The others being sold today as Scarlett O'Hara are usually 'Wine and Roses' which is a Deep Pinkish-Red, and not a Bright Vivid Red, and has a Bright White Throat

Also, this photo is from a 'Real' Red, but the throat wasn't quite solid

I feel your frustration, I planted 5 Scarlett Oharas from 5 sources this year and none of them are the real SOH.
