Seen on grassland in Dorset today
CLOSED: What will this become?
This caterpillar is in the subfamily Arctiinae (tiger moths) in the family Erebidae. It looks a lot like Spilosoma lubricipeda - see http://tinyurl.com/2c5mn59 for an image; there are a few other related species that can have a similar appearance. I've seem similar specimens on past autumn visits to Dorset; I'll keep a lookout for more while in Dorset next month.
Looks good to me thanks.
