CLOSED: Something is eating my Dahlias

I haven't caught a glimpse of the culprit, but I can see what looks like scat on the leaf surface.

Got 'em. I snuck outside at about 11 PM and "low and behold" inchworms. Someone said that the culprits may be hiding during the daytime and come out at night - they were right

They are the larvae of Geomtrid moths, Family Geometridae, Order Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths).
