The photo was taken 9-5 in the North Dakota, Manitoba Peace Garden. There was no name tag and I think it is quite lovely and obviously very hardy as it is growing in northern North Dakota.
Can you identify this shrub?
HI, if those are red berries; it may be a Cranberry Viburnum. Suggest that you also check on the Plant ID forum, I have had good luck there in the past.
I love the CV and so do the birds during the later migrations. The berries get sweeter after a frost. The flower and colors are neat and it is easy, for me; to keep in check so not to hang over the fence into neighbors yard.
I have a cranberry viburnum--I went out and checked the shape of the leaves and it is very different from the photo that I took at the Peace Garden. My cranberry has a three pronged leaf--just planted this spring so no berries. Yes, the shrub had small red berries. It was a real "knockout" and just glowed in the landscape. Thanks for you input,
How about the service berry? We have it in the Arboretum..hardy in 4b-5a here.
No, I have Service berries growing wild in the river trees--they have dark blue fruit similar to blue berries.
