I would like to know what kind of spider this is. I live in Oregon and don't ever remember seeing a spider like this. There are white markings on its back and a dark mark on its stomache. When I saw the spider on my porch it was carrying an egg sack. I would say the body was about the size of a dime.

This is an orb weaving spider (family Araneidae) in the genus Araneus; likely an unusual color variant of either Araneus marmoreus (see http://tinyurl.com/23h7mgb) or Araneus diadematus (see http://tinyurl.com/27kszob)
