These things have been invading my tomato plants, landing on the ripe tomatoes. Sometimes there are half a dozen of these things on one tomato. I have not seen them anywhere else until yesterday when I saw one crawling on the strawbale (that I grow in) under an eggplant plant. I have only been spraying with soapy water &/or a garlic spray I made.
What Are These Green 'Bots'?
They appear to be stink bugs: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/113/
An annoying pest that is quite destructive. They tend to suck the juices out of plants and their fruits.
Sevin is an effective control, but isn't organic.
Since they are on vegetables, is there anything that can be used that is not poisonous? My previous 2 methods do not work great and may only just know them of the tomatoes.
You might use a product with neem oil or pyrethrum in it. Both of those are considered safe for home vegetable gardens.
