I have 3 pet eastern box turtles. They are rescues. They love boiled eggs.
They also love tomatoes.

Wow, they're really tearing that tomato up! I had no idea turtles would eat eggs either. They're cute!

Thanks. We really enjoy them. They will eat out of our hands. I rescued the last one from being eaten by rats. They chewed one of his feet off poor little guy. I call him Rat Bait. He is getting pretty tame now. Likes to have the top of his head rubbed. I also have Lucky, another boy. And Hinge is the little girl. I have had her the longest. She was itty bitty when I found her. She is growing nicely.

The green and the grey ones are really neat. I had no idea ducks could lay colored eggs.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I knew they layed green eggs. I had a muscovie that layed green ones. My Ancona lays dirty looking white ones. I had no idea any duck layed gray eggs. those are really neat!

We got our first Araucana egg today. These are the eggs I collected today from the Rhode Island Reds, Sex Link Reds and that first blue egg.

Notice that BIG egg in the front. WOW, from a 6 month old RIR.

The Araucana egg appears to be the smallestest of the batch. Always great to get a blue egg though. The RIR red egg though is awesome. I have been reading that RIR are great layers.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

The blue one was so small. I was excited to get that first blue one. The RIRs have been great layers so far.

First eggs are typically small. My Ameraucana pullets' eggs are now often as large as the older Buff Orpingtons'.

Lodi, United States

True Araucanas do lay rather small eggs though...they aren't very large birds. Not as small as a bantam, but smaller than most dual purpose breeds.

Picabo, what beautiful eggs, love all the shades of brown!

Hey there.... I have 3 Buff Orpington Hens, all laying nicely and egg a day with one of my free range girls playing hide and seek everyday with hers. Although they are all Buffs their eggs are very different in coloration. One lays a nice dark buff brown, one is a medium coffee with milk color , and the last an almost whitish tan. Is it normal for Buffs to have such a wide range of color in their eggs?

Richmond, TX

Mine lay various shades of light brown, but not as different as yours sound. Post a picture?

Beautiful eggs! My Buff Orpingtons' eggs are mostly like the middle one or a little darker. Enjoy the variety.
