Common blue dragonfly id help

Halifax, Canada

This is a common blue dragonfly which gets very large this time of year, about 8-10cm long when spotted this one on my porch in Nova Scotia. See them at nearly every pond.

I think it's probably Pachydiplax longipennis / Blue Dasher

Sarasota, FL

Nice shot BTW

As usual. I would go with the bugguide answer.

Charleston, SC

With respect to fisherwink, this is not Pachydiplax longipennis. This is a darner in the family Aeshnidae. There are many similar species...

Halifax, Canada

I was thinking Blue-eyed Darner (Aeshna multicolor or Aeshna tuberculifera)

Sinks Grove, WV

I think that Aeshna tuberculifera (black-tipped darner) is a likely possibility - see http://tinyurl.com/24qandw for an image.
