CLOSED: Trying to Identify which spider this is.

London, United Kingdom

Hey guys, new here and trying to identify this spider and to which family it belongs. I have tried looking at various pictures but they all look the same to me haha.

It was in the house, and I must say, was very active! It seems as though it has a good deal of intelligence as well as it it tricked me to believing it was no longer alive, so I presume? I had trapped it in a glass whilst I tried to see if I could match it on the internet. When I came back in the morning, it wasn't moving and although I shook the glass and moved it about - it stay still and even fell off its web and just lay on the surface. I thought it may have died due to being within the glass but when I lifted the glass, the little bugger ran towards me!!!

This is a male orb weaving spider (family Araneidae) in the genus Araneus; likely a European garden spider (also known as a cross spider), Araneus diadematus - see http://tinyurl.com/4n7hfv

London, United Kingdom
