CLOSED: Is this a good bug? They were on my Pepper Plants

Valrico, FL

I have lost every single type of plant except one in my attempt to become a container gardener this year. Only my peppers are left. They used to be close to my tomatoes that died from spider mites and aphids. Then I found aphids on my pepper plants and have been washing them off. And suddenly this new bug, is all over my pepper plants, and I can't seem to find a single aphid?????? Is this a good bug?

They have no wings and crawl slowly. Are black and spiky and have a yellow middle band.

Can anyone ID this for me and tell me if they have saved my peppers?

It looks like a lady beetle nymph. I would wait for the resident experts, tho.

This is indeed a larva of a ladybird beetle (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae); likely that of an Asian multi-colored lady beetle, Harmonia axyridis - see http://tinyurl.com/nc3rwh for images. They are voracious predators on aphids and other small, soft-bodied arthropods, but the adult beetles can be nuisance pests when they invade buildings in large numbers in the autumn, seeking overwintering shelter.
