I have a carita plant (with white like jasmin flowers). One of the branches has slightly split at the bottom (where 2 branches join the main branch.) I have tied them together and would like to know if it will live by just being tied or whether I can propagate the split parts and how. Would appreciate your help. Thank you.
carita split branch
Not sure about tying the branches together (though, I've seen it work in stranger cases), but you can take cuttings. That would probably take the weight off of the split branch, which may help in the long run anyway. I think they root fairly easily, but a light rooting hormone helps. Should root w/i 4-6 wks. Easiest is to cover partially w/ plastic bag to keep the humidity around the cuttings high while it roots.
