Still remember folks checking in and checking up, packages with necessities sent to whomever could use them or get them to folks that needed them. Horses being trailered to higher ground by DGer with a truck. Gardeners found so many ways to help their DG family members.
I know that some folk moved away, and I have lost the link to Katrina that I had on my watch list.
Anyone want to check in and let me/us know how things are doing.?

Here in Utah, we had refugees of Katrina come to live here. Our family made friends with 2 of those families. One of them has moved back to New Orleans and we've lost track of them. The other family loves it here and won't go back. They say it's too scary.

I can understand both wanting to stay away and to return. The stories on CNN show how there have been some major changes, but frankly less than I would expect after 5 years..but I also don't know what it takes to clean up at that scale and start over.
I remember msjen moving away and someone from TX, that I sent stuff to so she could take it over the border. With the topic line gone, have really lost track of everything except how scarey it was for those down there and those posting ..trying to find folk.

At the top of your homepage is Communities. Click on that then, click on Discussion Forums. There is the Back Porch and Parking Lot forums you could try. Also, try the Regional Gardening area.
