Hi all,
I keep finding these 1" long black beetles in my house -- don't remember seeing them in past years.
They move slow. Sorry the picture isn't good -- probably not the camera's fault.
I'm in Omaha, Nebraska if that helps.
Thanks,
Snarly
anyone know what this is?
i can't see any details but i think it is stink beetle.
This could be a darkling beetle (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/2g5oqaj for an example. There are some ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) and blister beetles (Coleoptera: Meloidae) that can have a similar appearance, but ground beetles as a rule move quite quickly, and blister beetles are much less apt to be found indoors.
