Please Help Me Identify This Spider

I find these dead in my basement. They are about the size of your thumbnail.

It could be the shed skins of wolf spiders you're finding. It looks like one, anyway. Our resident experts will confirm or deny this for you.

This looks more like a spider that dies of starvation/desiccation than a shed 'skin.' As I cannot make out the anterior median eyes, I cannot be certain whether this male (note the enlarged pedipalps) spider is a wolf spider (family Lycosidae) or is in the closely related family Agelenidae (funnel web/grass spiders).
