I have a small balcony garden in Dallas, Texas that was recently plagued with spider mites. I found a tiny colony of these guys about an hour ago on my sunflowers which I am trying to save from the mites. When I sprayed them with an organic pesticide, they fell off the plant and seemed to have died. Are these bugs going to spread to my coleus, zinnias, basil, collard greens and pumpkin? At this point I would rather throw the sunflowers out instead of having to resort to using something like sevin. Please help!
CLOSED: CLOSED: Red bug on Sunflowers
These appear to be newly hatched nymphs of a leaf-footed bug Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Coreidae). Most of these are plant feeders, with some being predaceous on other small arthropods.
