Canvasback...flyby.
Pipe Creek Wildlife Area part 4
Last one for now gang..another R-n Duck. Have seen many bird's the last 2 days.
Seen but not photoed today were a Northern Harrier, a Cooper's Hawk at the waters edge, a sharp-shinned Hawk...2 adult Bald Eagle's, Great Blue Heron's, Red-winged Blackbird's, Killdeer...would have had to spend a day making a list.
My hi-light of the day was a huge flock of Tundra Swan's flying the V-formation...it was beautiful must have been 50 bird's it was incredible to see and hear...that can't be put to an image...it has to be seen and felt. Till next time!
Incredible day of photographic bliss. You have it all there. Some really nice shots. You're right about the Tundra Swans.
Canada Geese, Tundra Swans and Snow Geese are on the move around my area. It's sad but a good sign that Spring is nearing. Again, excellent work.
Thank you Linth! I believe Osprey's are on your list soon?
Ive been looking at every Ring-necked Duck and Scaup hoping one may be a Tufted Duck...lol
woah... :|
Quite obviously a ‘Calender Duck’.
Great close up pictures Burd.
I feel your pain with your patience.

LOL, Burd. Welcome back! Wonderful shots of a great variety of birds. No wonder you love that place. The one of the three Mallards is a stunner.
Great shots of so many wonderful birds! Love the close up of the female Common Merganser! I absolutely love the comical feet on the Coots. You see a great variety here, glad you have this place to go to and thanks for sharing with us!
Great variety and wonderful shots - you got a bit personal with that one duck! LOL! I really loved the pics.
Can't believe your close ups. So neat to see details on the birds. I, for one, have never noticed the green legs on the Coots.

According to DH who studied coots, green legs are the younger ones. the legs become yellow as they get older. Nice picture of the threesome.
Great photos, The Merganser and Redhead Duck shot are super.
This is as close as I've gotten to any of these birds so please keep your great images coming, they are fantastic!
We do marsh & lake & waterfront birds by way of all you who post the lovely pictures.
Well I guess you all have convinced me that the Pipe Creek thread must live on...lol
I appreciate all the kind comments...I really love the place...and I do like to share it with all of you. Thank you!
In a few days I hope to start the next Pipe Creek thread.
Burd I use threads like these to learn a bit more - looking it up on G. earth. The locality threads are nice on many levels for me.
