Hello,
I'm in Pearland, Texas. A few weeks ago these bugs began appearing in my garden. They're everywhere now and they seem to particularly like my jazmins and bouganvillas. Are they friends or foe?
Thanks
Bug ID please?
A bit blurry but pretty sure it is one of the assassin bugs....maybe this one?

Friend or foe is up for debate. They eat bugs that are on your plants mainly. But in my case, since I raise caterpillars of the butterflies; they aren't allowed. I don't use sprays because of the danger of killing the good with the bad; so I thump them into soapy water.
This looks like Zelus longipes (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Reduviidae), known as the milkweed assassin bug - see http://tinyurl.com/23w4qnw for an image.
