I'm posting for my mom. She has been having a lot of these beetle looking bugs in her house, something she's never had a problem with before. They often fall from the roof onto the floor or into the bath tub. She's had them in her sink, on her carpet, on the couch. There are a lot of them. They have a little bulb on their legs, which look a dark red in color. The body itself looks either black or a very very dark brown. They are very crunchy when you squish them too. Their feet are very sticky, very spider like.
A friend said possibly a tick?
It would be very appreciated if you could identify this bug so she can figure out how to get rid of them.
Thank you!

CLOSED: What is this bug taking over the house?
This is a short-snouted/broad-nosed weevil (Coleoptera: Curculionidae; subfamily Entiminae). A few species such as the strawberry root weevil (see http://tinyurl.com/2fp2g2s for an image) often enter homes in search for shelter; they do no damage indoors, but can be nuisance pests just from their unwanted presence. Short of hermetically sealing your house, it would be nearly impossible to keep some of them from gaining entry. Simply vacuum them up and dispose of them.
