i was out cleanning some of my beds today, and noticed i have something eating the roots of some of my daisy's and other things like my daylillies and jap. iris... around some of the plants it reminds me of an ant hill...the soil is raised, with lots of holes, and there are these worm like things....maybe an inch long very skinny, remind me of a centapide....lots of legs.....brownish color....I have mulch (wood chips ) in my beds.....sorry i don't have a camera...thanks
CLOSED: sorry no picture...worm with lots of legs
Could be garden millipedes (such as Oxidus gracilis). Basically scavengers on decomposing organic material, they sometimes can cause damage to tender plants. See http://tinyurl.com/2fhbzo3 for an image and http://tinyurl.com/c7vt25 for a fact sheet.
