Unable to take a photo, this little fly is similar in size to a hoverfly, but is black with a yellow thorax...it was hovering over the ripe fennel...this afternoon we had loads of hoverfly and ladybirds on the fennel flowers, munching away on nasty aphids and whitefly and being good "green" creatures I let them alone to munch and eat but this one little stranger had me puzzled.....
