Never seen one of these in Minnesota. It made the mistake of coming into my garage. It is a little bigger that a quarter including legs. It has 2 black dot on top of it's tail section (?) and two white stripes on it's legs.
What kind of spider is this.
This is a completely harmless male (note the enlarged pedipalps) orb weaving spider (family Araneidae); possibly in the genus Araneus - see http://tinyurl.com/2aq5alg for an example. These male spiders sometimes leave their web and wander about in search of potential mates. All orb weavers are harmless to humans.
