such a great fluffy coat too

Sure could use some prayers for our little Bailey. She is in the ICU in critical condition after ingesting a plant poison of some type. The best guess is an acorn, as the symptoms match up best. We had to rush her to the emergency hospital an hour away last night, as she was hemorrhaging badly. Carli is just beside herself, as are we. Things look a bit better today...the xrays show nothing of concern and her blood work looked better. She has been such a little trooper! We're going to have to play it by ear about the RU, but we're still hoping she'll be able to do it by Saturday.

thinking about you and Bailey this morning.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Same here.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - hope all is well.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for all of your prayers and sweet notes. We went to visit Bail last night and she was so stressed by the hospital scene and being separated from Carli that the vet said we could take her home if we could do the aftercare for her. She is bright this morning and doing better. She has a suitcase full of meds....oral and syringes...that a very non-medical person like me is trying to keep up with on an hourly basis. I'm overwhelmed but so happy to have her back home. Prayers were definitely answered and we are both so grateful! We hope to see some of you at the RU, provided we can keep her on the right track. Love and Hugs to you all!

Miracle!

Thomaston, CT

Louise, I've been thinking about you & Bailey all day....glad she's doing better!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks so much, Marilyn! She is acting pretty normal now and gaining in strength. As is usually the case with me, now that I am feeling that she will be ok, I am feeling shakey about how close we came to losing her. Deep breaths are in order. You are very sweet and I appreciate all of you so much for your support! Boy does it help to come here and find caring and kindness!

Thomaston, CT

Yes it does! Carli must be thrilled to have her sister back, & Bailey will get well faster at home with all the attention she deserves.....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yes, it is very interesting that Carli was still very upset even on the drive home from the hospital with Bailey in the travel crate with her. She only relaxed once we all got into the house. She is a very sweet dog and a good big sister! It always amazes me that there is no competition between them for our attention. They seem to like it when the other is being cuddled or getting attention. Time to exhale.......

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Jily always does better at home as well.. hope all is well soon... between the two of us we can open an after care home Louise

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

OMG.. that's crazy

660 cats! So 660 x $540 (py per cat) = Too Much Money

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't even want to post the link, but some low-life beat his girlfriend with her cat! Scum.

That maggot

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

How the heck did that work?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Do you really want to know??

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

NO! *screaming as loud as I can*

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Well not really but I'm trying to wrap my mind around this...cats aren't exactly as stiff as a basball bat and they are usually soft and fluffy so how bad could that actually hurt??? Now if she got beat with a mastiff I could see that hurting...I'm not sure I'm buying this story.

The cat would of got hurt or ____

Thomaston, CT

That village is awfully cute, but he definitely seems to be hoarding the cats, otherwise he'd let them be adopted......

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, that's what I thought, why doesn't he want to adopt them out?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hoarders aren't well and don't think like we do. They mean well but they don't do well......

No hoarder here except: Paper things example - The elecrolux vacuume cleaner I got in 1996. I still have the manual with the receipt stapled to it. I probably have not looked at the manual in 15 years so why keep it?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I bought a manual on eBay for my old Snow Thrower and was SO HAPPY to be able to get it in case it needed repaired. I set an air conditioner on my front lawn with a for Free sign and it didn't go until I found the manual and taped that onto it. Old instructions/manuals can be useful.
