How difficult moving Aesculus parviflora?

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

We have an Aesculus parviflora (bottlebrush buckeye) planted in the back side yard. I didn't know when I planted it, that we would be installing a ramp into our home, so the buckeye needs to be moved. It's approximately 4 1/2 foot tall and wide. How difficult will it be to move this plant? It doesn't need to move far, about 6 ft. over and back. We removed the Sambucus that was taking over and to make room for the buckeye. Any help is most appreciated.

TIA,
Terry

Terry, I'm no expert and hope some will chime in; but my understanding is that Aesculus (both parviflora and pavia) is taprooted and resents being moved. I planted a couple A. parviflora a couple years ago, and was really careful about selecting their site for this reason. Hopefully others will have better news/suggestions; good luck-

Thanks Ruth. I was careful, but then the ramp had to be put in. If I'd known the ramp was going in, I wouldn't have put it there. I was also wrong on my measurements. It's about 6' tall and wide. I sure hope this baby can be moved. You can't walk around the ramp in grass as it is.

Thanks again.

Hear that; my life is full of things that seemed like a fine idea at the time. Best of luck with the move-

Thanks Ruth. I don't really see as we have much of a choice. Hopefully, in the cool of the late fall, all goes well.
