Our dear friend Lisa contributed lilies to H W Hyde & Son for his "Chelsea Project" last year. The "Chelsea Project," as I call it is Mr. Hyde's adventure into find new and exciting lilies from less known sources, growing them on, and then the flowers will be displayed at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2011. The flowers drawing the most attention and displaying the best growing habits for garden use, will be registered and propagated for the lily market. Royalties will be granted for the hybridizers who plants get selected. I know we are all cheering for Lisa here! Check out the tab named Chelsea 2011 here: http://www.hwhyde.co.uk/
Buggycrazy goes world wide!
Fantastic.Good Luck Lisa.
She deserves recognition for all of her efforts. Lisa, know I am rooting for yours! You have bred some of the most amazing lilies.
Way to go, Lisa!
Lisa,
Hope you get all you deserve. You are a wonderful Hybridizer. You should win all the prizes. I still have all the lilies I've been lucky enough to purchase from you and have been enjoying them for years. Thank You
Wonderful!! I'm so happy to hear that. :D
I'm rooting for you too, Lisa! We are all hoping they pick your lilies to propagate.
Hurray for Lisa! It couldn't happen to a nicer person!
Best of luck, Lisa!
Hope you're lilies are accepted. You're the best.
Congratulations Lisa! No one deserves it more!
wishing you the best!!
I hope they like them too or else they will be extinct! I wonder how they got Superior to bloom, I recall only having small bulbs to share. But they probably had them in a greenhouse and babies can bloom without chill, sometimes the Asiatics put out a bloom in late summer-or used to when we had a growing season here, now all we have is endless winter then the death season.
Oh Lisa, I have a good feeling about this! I've been concerned about your amazing hybrids being lost from cultivation, and you really have achieved excellent results in your breeding efforts. Its about time you can sit back and collect some royalties! Best of luck!
And yes, may the royalties start rolling in for you....
I'm jumping w/ glee and sending all kinds of positive thoughts towards this project
Well plant royalties really don't pay, too easy to propagate them. Also the prices are down now. But they are lost here so only my customers are likely to have them. It is just too bad I was so late getting the trumpets going, was going to release some this year but they were pretty trampled by a dog, now will be dead of drought. Just as well I quit caring for them. I also didn't send any of the American hybrids we have been working on, only had a few bulbs and they are all lost now.
Oh Lisa, I am so sorry to head that. Dang dogs anyway!!
Maxine
You really haven't any idea how grateful I am to have been YOUR customer. You define "the best".
I am afraid in this state dogs have been given a license to kill and unlicensed, marauding dogs are blatantly encouraged by Linn County as they turn a blind eye to it and refused to uphold the law, so I am out of business after losing so much, all of the Calypso bulbosa (hundreds at $20.00 each) all of the L. parryii, most of the L. martagon, most of the Fritillaria japonicum, most of the Daffodil Dickcissal, most of the Daffodil Mrs. RO Backhouse, and many, many seedlings.
Not to mention my pets have been terrorized mercilessly and I have been bitten and we have both been threatened several times. Having to listen to dogs barking ALL day, EVERY day and sometimes on OUR own property we threw out the leftovers since the Linn County laws ore NOT upheld here.
So anybody want to buy a farm? Perfect for the drug dealer who wants to breed pit bulls and let them run loose and chase game. No water for crops though. It is a real mess since I am unable to tolerate the conditions so don't work outside much anymore.
There are about 15 acres deer fenced, does nothing to keep the dogs out.
What a tragic loss for you, most of all, and those of us who loved your plants, Lisa. I wish you the best in the future.
Arlene
Oh, my, that's awful!!
I am so sorry.
Elaine
Lisa, our prayers are with you. I'm so very sorry.
Lisa, this is so painful to read. After all your struggles. I am so very sorry. I am one of your newer customers, and had looked forward to being one for many more years.
Donna
Lisa asked over on another site that this be posted.
From Lisa:
"Hi everyone, I am no longer a member of DG so cannot read or post on forums, so anyone wanting to ask me anything will have to go thru here or my email. Someone please post this on DG so nobody thinks they are snubbed please."
