I think the huge legs are a give away that it's a frog.

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

One of these I am going to make a pond so I can have frogs and the little Toad houses.:)

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

Toads have very short legs and take tiny little hops. I have hundreds of the. They range in size from almost too tiny to see to full grown toad.

I had a toad that for the longest time would hop up on the sill by the sliding glass door. One night I noticed something strange and I saw a dark colored snake moving at a snail's pace away and never saw the toad again. I wonder if it was a hog nose snake? It was moving so slowly I thought cause it had just eaten my toad. Darn it!
