Can the bumps on this spider be babies? Do they do that? She didn't want to pose for me, best shot I could get as she was really on the move.

That is just wierd looking. Hope someone knows the answer.
This is normal behavior for wolf spiders (family Lycosidae); females carry their egg sac with them until the eggs hatch, at which time the spiderlings crawl onto her back where they remain for a few days before dispersing to seek their individual fortunes. See http://tinyurl.com/24ad4d4
Thanks for the info, suunto. Spiders aren't my favorite critters, but I don't go out of my way to hurt them either. In all my 60 years I've never seen this before, kind of a thrill.
