Found this in a shopping bag in Minneapolis. About 2 cm long with the profile of a kissing bug wearing a fur coat. Very odd looking. Could it be that it has a fungus?

This is a nymph of an assassin bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Reduviidae) that has 'disguised' itself with bits of dust and other debris attached to hairs on its body. It may be Reduvius personatus, an introduced species known as the masked hunter - see http://tinyurl.com/2eddrve for an image and http://tinyurl.com/egdfr for more detailed information. The term 'kissing bug' usually refers to assassin bugs in the subfamily Triatominae, most of which are obligatory blood feeders - see http://tinyurl.com/lx3tck.
