What are your five top performers this season?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I need to get some Agastaches

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

They really are an understted plant. I like the licorice hysop type with thread leaves. I have also had Blue Fortune which is different and hasnt lasted very long. I had 2 year old plants that didnt come back.
The hysop has lasted longer.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful Ge! I'm liking the agastaches more and more....they just don't like Maine:(

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

some don't like NJ either Celeste... that's why the ones I like.. I brought in

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thats odd maybe too damp?
They are very dorught tolerant.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

with the rocks underground & all the slopes I don't think it's too wet.... but I do think it's colder here than zone 6.. some years

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thay might be it.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I think snow cover, freezes and thaws also can contribute to wether or not this type of plant lasts in the garden. I do think they are worth the effort.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We are never a z6! LOL Already has dipped into the 40's at night once or twice and some of the annuals did not like it:(

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

NOOOOO not yet.
The longrange forecast from FA says Hurricane thread the 31st of this month.

Thomaston, CT

That's all I need, after the tornado!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wouldn't mind the remnants of one if it brought a bunch of rain.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know they are annuals.. but I love the self seeding strawflower patch

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I did a few years ago... Randy got kind of ticked at me hanging them up in the garage .. LOL... but you know me.. will never stop me

:)

I NEVER thought I would have flowers Weeze said she has vines everywhere and no flowers... this time I kept them in a container.. maybe it's better that way

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Love those strawflowers. Have them in a pot but never planted them out. Will the maypop over winter there for you?

Thomaston, CT

A very pretty patch of flowers, Allison.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I don't even hang them...I cut them and put then in an empty vase. LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have a passion flower / maypop in the garden that I planted last year Patti... it is currently 4" tall... guess it's not a good plant for me.. LOL.. might try it in the greenhouse this year.. have to pick up a small trellis for the container

maybe I will fill them in the vase you gave me Celeste... the vibrant colors will work well together

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

going to have a sea for blue flowers from the caryopteris this year!!

Thomaston, CT

Nice color for this time of year!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Bill my variegated one is blooming already

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I planted it once and it died...as much as I love blue I think I need another one!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I can let mine go to seed if you would like

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

If you don't mind, i'd love to try it from seed instead of spending money on a plant for me to kill. LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

you got it... and if I get any volunteers you know I will give you some

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

they have really taken off this year may need more for problem spots

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Looking good Bill. Hope this much needed rain will umph up the fall shrubs and tree leaf color for the autumn show.

South Hamilton, MA

We are getting a few trees starting to turn color as it is so dry. Come on all day rain!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I has been raining here since 2AM.It just finished about 11AM Nice steady rain about 1-2 inches.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)
