This massive caterpillar has infested one of my frangipanis and is in the process of decimating it. It eats ferociously day and night and drops massive frass. Anyone out there knows what it will turn into? My guess it's a moth rather than a butterfly. I am going to painstakingly remove them by hand and take them off the property to live happily in the wild. Any help gratefully received.
Unknown Lepidoptera Larvae?
I think I found it for you! It's a Tetrio Sphinx Moth. Here's a link to an article about it here on DG. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/2008/02/29/Dutchlady1/ae8f2d.jpg&imgrefurl=http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/842/&usg=__zSlSiyogYnw3oHLvTqLsAwiIlLU=&h=200&w=220&sz=24&hl=en&start=11&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=HvZUB0RpnlmRwM:&tbnh=97&tbnw=107&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dplumeria%2Bas%2Bhost%2Bplant%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us%26tbs%3Disch:1
