Has anyone else planted the new Hydrangea paniculata 'Vanilla Strawberry'? I have planted a couple and so far they are spectacular. They have very large flower clusters similar to 'Limelight' but a purer white. Then, the deep pink flush starts at the base of each cluster and gradually colors up the whole cluster, creating a beautiful bi-color effect. Another nice difference is that the plant continues to send out new flower clusters, so I think that in another month, there will be a most unusual combination of flowers, some all pink, some bi-color, and some all white.
I'll post photos.
Note: It's the first year for this new cultivar, so it might be hard to find.
New hydrangea paniculata...'Vanilla Strawberry'
I don't have one, but I've seen several people post about it over on the Hydrangea forum if you want to go over there and compare notes.
Thanks for the tip!
