Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

He is cool looking, but nasty. He's a Leaf Beetle Grub, Leptinotarsa

Other than color, his shape resembles one I had, which I think is a false potato beetle (there was an ID thread on that a few weeks ago and sure enough the striped beetle I found had the special wide stripe)

ohhhh if it is this one: http://bugguide.net/node/view/449 Which I think Crissyr is correct, then I'm glad I fed him to the fish in the pond. I thought he was bad news. Nasty and ugly looking.

This guy on this link http://bugguide.net/node/view/213731 has a different head.
I found this guy that looks like him, in the same family: http://bugguide.net/node/view/208031/bgimage

I see those bad guys (Adults) in my garden over the years, I called them "Colorado striped Beetle"
and sometimes I called them Cucumber striped beetle, apparently I got confused over the years from past research !!!

I have the creeps now looking at grub photos ........ yuck!
